Living The Good Life: Años Viejos, Pyromaniacs, and Fireworks...Oh My
I've been wanting to tape New Year's Eve for some years now for you all. It's quite a spectacle here. Well, I fell asleep around 10pm with cotton stuffed in my ears and the fan and the air conditioner on high. BUT, my friend Danielle and her husband David, who live in our neighborhood, DID tape it. Please, please, click on this and scroll down to the video: Living The Good Life: Años Viejos, Pyromaniacs, and Fireworks...Oh My

WOW! Now THAT is a New Years. I know where I want to be next year... we had our own fireworks in Ellijay with friends... imagine our dissapointment when the only ones we could find couldn't shoot in the air. (GA law) We tried to make it more dangerous by flinging them in the air manually but it just wasn't the same. I am in awe of Ecuadorian celebration.
Oh yes, unbelievable it is. I saw a photo in the paper of one of the things they burn - it was a paper-mache model of the Titanic that was about half a block long. UNBELIEVABLE. They just burnt it on a city street.
You have got to be kidding me! I'm living in the wrong country. Off to make a paper-mache titanic!
